Tokyo is often shown at its busiest. In these photographs, the quieter details tell just as much of the story.

Outside Tokyo Station, the rhythm slows for a moment beneath the autumn trees. A little farther on, the city becomes signs, reflections and narrow streets. Each frame is a reminder that a place can feel different from one corner to the next.

I am drawn to that contrast: the scale of the city against the small gestures within it, and the way light can make a familiar scene feel entirely new. Looking closely leaves room for both movement and stillness.
